SSE Enterprise Telecoms announces multi-million-pound investment in enhanced customer quoting portal ‘LIVEQUOTE’

SSE Enterprise Telecoms has announced the multi-million-pound upgrade and development of its digital pricing and ordering portal, LIVEQUOTE, meeting the growing need for more simplicity, convenience and choice among UK telecoms wholesalers.

The upgraded portal launches with a host of new features including access to a greater choice of network providers for every quote, ensuring that SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ customers are provided the best solution, supplier and price. Additional benefits include the capability for users to quickly and easily regenerate pricing once outside of the 30-day quote validity period and the implementation of postcode address search as well as access to historic quoting, providing users with more ease and clarity when looking to select a connectivity supplier.

Post launch SSE Enterprise Telecoms has a number of further developments planned for the LIVEQUOTE portal. This will include additional improvements to the client interface to simplify and speed up customer access to the UK telco’s high capacity 10Gbps services. In addition, users will have the ability to easily access new product services as SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ portfolio develops and be able to access alternative connectivity options or product variants should their preferred service not be available.

Application Programming Interface (API) access to the delivery systems of other UK suppliers is also in development which will help to reduce delivery times as well as give customers better visibility over delivery timescales. As is enhanced reporting that will provide customers with better control over their connectivity estate and enable them to build and react to their network in real-time.
SSE Enterprise Telecoms also has plans to enhance the user experience further by investing in advanced communications functionalities like live-chat to integrate online and offline consultation interactions, creating a more consistent experience.

As business demand for more bandwidth increases the upgraded LIVEQUOTE portal will be perfectly positioned to compliment the direction in which the telecoms industry is heading, with customers and partners able to access high capacity services from SSE Enterprise Telecoms and its supplier network at the click of a button.

A recent report from Ovum states that most modern buyers are looking for more responsive suppliers, and the ability to bypass manual ordering with self-service pricing and ordering tools, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to speed up purchasing. As SSE Enterprise Telecoms rolls out the enhanced functionality in the new tool, APIs will be upgraded along with the user interface, ensuring all groups of customers are catered for.

Simon Willmott, Sector Director for Service Providers, SSE Enterprise Telecoms, said:

“We pride ourselves on being open and honest with our customers and are always looking at new ways to provide improved visibility of all our products and services. Our upgraded portal forms part of this. It will offer users a choice of suppliers in a price comparison function view, something not many providers are currently offering. This allows us to be able to meet the changing digital needs of our customers.

“Our ultimate goal is that all our connectivity services will be provided through the enhanced portal, giving our clients a better choice and user experience. We’ve put the customer at the heart of our development, using APIs to interface into all major connectivity providers to get accurate, real-time pricing for the end customer in a few clicks, saving them time to talk to multiple providers or develop their own tool. The front end of our upgraded portal is designed to be more intuitive and visual, with a focus on ease-of-use so that all users – not just technical experts – can fully understand what they’re buying”.
